Orion Group of Companies entered the TOP-25 of the largest telecommunication companies in Russia

The FCC has approved the sale of OneWeb
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) 27 October approved the sale of OneWeb to the UK government and Bharti Global. The practical result of this decision will be the transfer of OneWeb licenses to new owners.. Per FCC Notice, the British government and Bharti Global will own 42,2% shares of the reorganized OneWeb. SoftBank, lead investor in OneWeb (owned 37,41% OneWeb) before filing for bankruptcy, will have 12,3% shares. The remaining shares will go to companies like Hughes Network Systems.
The FCC also specified its plans for the distribution of the fund, which is designed to bridge the digital divide in the United States. According to them, in the next decade, the regulator plans to spend about $9 billion to solve the problem of providing mobile services to those regions of the country, where 4G and 5G networks are missing. At the same time, the regulator separately noted, what if the participants in the struggle for obtaining funds will use satellite services with a signal delay of less than 100 milliseconds, then he will not see this as a problem.
At the same time, the FCC rejected all proposals of the operators and noted, that the state is interested in providing rural "access to services, reasonably comparable to services in urban areas ". In addition, all recipients of funds must be able to provide mobile services., terrestrial voice and broadband, that are consistent with public interest commitments and performance requirements.
With regard to subscriber equipment, the FCC noted, that they are interested in standard smartphones, which must be provided with a content acquisition service at a level of at least 35 megabits per second and transmission at a rate of at least three megabits per second. In general, the FCC has once again confirmed, that it doesn't care which operators use innovative technologies and is not responsible for their development.
